I am a metal/silver smith and artist. I am interested in how an object relates to the body while conveying, an often, personal narrative. Life experiences, struggles and triumphs, are often pushed into my work creating external, tangible, explorations of an unresolved story. I am also inspired by the medium I work with, metal. Often I feel I am collaborating with the material instead of manipulating it. Metals flexible and structural ability enable me to make but moreover, inspire me.
Kathryn E. Trombadore earned her BFA from Virginia Commonwealth University after completing 4 years in the Craft and materials program. With a focus in metals, Kathryn explores wearable art as a form of self-investigation and expression. Inspired by the fanciful and whimsical, Kathryn takes her life experiences and gives them a new place to live in her colorful and strange objects.
